Bridal Hair and Makeup: Amanda

The pre-wedding photography looks I did for sweet Amanda.
She is a soft spoken and a very easy going bride to be. :)

When I asked how she would like her looks to be like during the trial, she totally left it all for me to decide!

You know this makes me (nervous) as I usually would prefer the girls to at least show me a sample of their preferred looks. Like Korean-ish or Taiwan-ish? OR maybe even European-ish????????????????

After all it IS their big day and I really would want them to be comfortable in what they are having.
And don't we always know that we girls can be rather indecisive and fickle???? (Me included!!) Hahhahhahha

Anyways, she just shrugged and told me to decide for her.

Tadah! I was amazed even at her transformation, as she totally looks different when she is bare faced! And I evened out her eyelids with tape.

I gave her a light smoky blue eye colour as her evening wear is blue. Just so we get a bit matchy-matchy here.
*Note: It is never a must to match your colours. So don't go restricting yourselves!

FYI: I love Pin-up girls! (My namecard has a pin-up girl, my kitchen has a few pin-up girl decors)

Hair and Makeup: Love Bonito Sports Luxe Collection

Oh My God! It's been such a long time since I updated my blog.

What with being busy before the Chinese New year and all and my 2 week long holiday to London!

I truly hope I have the energy to share my holiday experience here with pics and all....
I don't know how people blog as often as they do?!

Anyway I did a recent shoot with Love Bonito, featuring their sports inspired apparels!!

The materials feel really good and they have a chic sporty feel to it. ME likes!!!
BUT it's not something you can really wear for your netball game or for a leisurely jog in your park.
Of course you may, if you choose to do so. (Just be careful of those to die for undies you wear beneath!!) ;p

Bridal Hair and Makeup for Yvonne

Lovely bride Yvonne, who is always all smiles and with a great personality to match.

First look of the day:

It took me sometime to try to arrange the flowers prettily in Yvonne's hair, especially not when I'm still trying to wake up, early in the morning.... The stress DID wake me up though!
Definitely much harder than just sticking on a hair accessory! I'm glad I did it and without delay to the whole schedule! *PHEW!

This style is also stressful as I cannot stick pins that are bigger than these dainty flowers. They have to be placed strategically around the braid without falling out and look nice all at the same time! Ahhhhhhh!!!

Visible pins all through are not acceptable and so I told Yvonne, " No vigorous head shaking for the night ok!" Hahahahah

Love, Bonito in Fide Fashion Week

And congratulations to Love, Bonito!!
For marking a huge milestone in their business after the collaboration with Haute Couture designer, Julien Fornie!

Feel so happy for them and of course I got my eye on some of the pieces that was launched at the Fide Fashion Week at Marina Bay Sands. :)

When the news was announced that we get entry into the show, I was super excited. I was thinking: Finally I get to be in the midst of the buzz instead of my usual backstage for work.

Although as Love, Bonito's sort of "In-house" hair and makeup artist, I didn't get to doll up the runway models.
But fortunately still, I was called by Rachel to help with her hair and makeup for the event!!
So priviledged to have this opportunity!

I absolutely loved the vibes (especially the confetti) of the whole show despite having to queue and wait for over 1hr in my sky high platform heels!!

ABOUT ME

I work with a team of fellow artists sometimes, which allows us to better ourselves and also work as a group to deliver the best services to you all out there.

Previously graduated with a Diploma in Optometry, I realized that being an optometrist is not what I would be happy working in for the long term. So I decided to pursue the unknown in the artistic industry, which is what I've always been fascinated in since young.

I figured: You only live once, why waste it?

So, after graduating with a hair diploma course from Kimage, I realized styling is what I love most and decided to focus more on getting experience in this sector which unfortunately was not taught in-depth during my time in hair school.

I strongly think that hair should also really go with makeup for a lady to look ‘complete' and that beauty IS the whole package!!

So, I started to read up on lots of information on makeup and went hands-on on my own face and whoever I can get for practice!

Armed with self-taught makeup skills, a hair diploma, and MOST importantly a very determined and passionate heart, I took a huge leap of faith out into a new career path to get more involved in the industry.

I proudly say my forte is my versatility in my style for (with an added speciality on asian faces) and is often engaged for brides styling, fashion and commercial shoots/print ads, corporate functions and beauty workshops, personal makeovers and collaboration with fashion designers, photographers and videographers. (Pretty much anything you can think of)

Being able to do what I love and good at, often keeps me in an uplifted, jovial and cheeky demeanor, making people feel at ease around me very easily.

Currently striving to better my skills with experience and looking to expand my expertise in related hair and makeup projects.

I am proud to declare that I am Cozycot’s 100 most inspiring women for two consecutive years 2011/2012 and want to thank all the people who have supported me so far!
