Product Review: Daily Skin Rejuvenation

Ever feel that there are just too many products out there and you just want to try them all?
ME!! me ME! me!!!
(But at the same time you want to know it actually works and you KNOW you have your money well spent!)

Well being a beauty junkie and makeup artist by profession, I am like F.O.R.E.V.E.R wanting to bust that myth of 'Miraculous-ness' of X product or sometimes getting blown away by the sheer pretty packaging of it all wondering if it is as good as it looks???.....

So what I can do to help you ladies, is to pick out some of my favourite products that I have tried and put in my 2 cents worth of review and which it actually works. (AT LEAST FOR MY SKIN)

DISCLAIMER NOTE: I am posting from a consumer's point of view. So what works for me, may or may not work for you.

There was also a recent revelation: A very important one

You know how sometimes beauty companies set up warehouse sales with massively discounted prices on their range of products and you just DON'T KNOW what to buy (or if you should buy it just because the ad says so?)
Ending up a hoarder of products and 'X' $$ poorer for stuff you don't use at all and the companies go back happier .

This happened to me and my beauty junkie friends and after calculating the damage to our pockets, having the strongest urge to cry, we had the sudden Eureka moment to look for reviews online!!!! (LIKE HONEST REVIEWS!!!! NOT those paid to advertise which can be so misleading!!)

SO,

This is a review on skin exfoliation or un-clogger or peel or rejuvenator (This is how I want to define in my terms)

Having supremely oily skin and pores that are big and clogged, I am always on the lookout for the type of product to make it smooth and clean without extraction. PAIN! YIKES!
An awesome painless way to getting rid of comedones aka blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, etc

In my honest opinion, exfoliation is a vital step to include in your cleansing regimen.

Presenting to you:

Eucerin Dermo Purifyer

This can be found in your nearest pharmacy/drugstores: Guardian and Watsons mainly.

IT is definitely affordable; around the range of SGD $30 or so
Use it daily, morning and night, and you will feel a marked improvement in the texture of your skin.
Another plus for this, is that there is no burning sensation on the skin, zero discomfort, unlike some other rejuvenator.
It feels smoother, and more supple and makes skin more radiant. YAY! Add on with your daily moisturizer after for optimum hydration effect.

To me, this is definitely cause for joy as my skin feels rough 80% of the time. Those little bumps and dehydrated parts of the face, just so frustrating!
After using this, it feels smooth like 80% of the time NOW!

This product is mainly for oily to very oily skin... (where annoying comedones usually appear on)

NEXT UP,

Lierac High Peel Concentrate
I found this baby when I was holidaying in London. I am partial to the word PEEL. (It means peel off dead skin and expose new skin = Rejuvenation!!!!!!)
IF I remember correctly, it costs about $20+ pounds.
STILL affordable to me.
But sadly, you can't find this anywhere except online or try via Luxola?

This works wonderfully on my sad tired skin and smells lovely.
Initial application has a slight biting effect because of the acids in it but absolutely NOT to the point of discomfort. BUT IT'S TOTALLY OK cause it kills WRINKLES!

Well, I haven't used it to the point that makes my wrinkles disappear. (Though I think wrinkles are kinda the least of my problems for now.... Hahahhaha)

BUT it does indeed make my skin more radiant, smooth and supple!!!!! (As they correctly claim)

Helps boost cell renewal. Improves skin texture.
Clinically proven effectiveness:
  • A recognized anti-wrinkle effect: 68%
  • The skin is smoother: 64%
  • The product moisturizes the skin well: 82%
  • Tolerance: good
Clinical study conducted with 22 women between ages 35 and 65 who applied the product twice a day for 28 days - % of satisfaction

So I'm also going to trust that it diminishes wrinkles just cause it says so!!!! (for now)

Go try it! I hope you'll be pleased like me!

Just so we get amazed and in awe of what makeup and hair can do........

Facial features enhanced!
Before and After makeup look

Need I say more? :)

Bridal Hair and Makeup: Amanda

The pre-wedding photography looks I did for sweet Amanda.
She is a soft spoken and a very easy going bride to be. :)

When I asked how she would like her looks to be like during the trial, she totally left it all for me to decide!

You know this makes me (nervous) as I usually would prefer the girls to at least show me a sample of their preferred looks. Like Korean-ish or Taiwan-ish? OR maybe even European-ish????????????????

After all it IS their big day and I really would want them to be comfortable in what they are having.
And don't we always know that we girls can be rather indecisive and fickle???? (Me included!!) Hahhahhahha

Anyways, she just shrugged and told me to decide for her.

Tadah! I was amazed even at her transformation, as she totally looks different when she is bare faced! And I evened out her eyelids with tape.

Day bridal look for Amanda
Couldn't get a pic of the hairstyle as it was early morning and the lighting is pretty dim. Ahhhhhh neverminddd......

Night Bridal look for Amanda

Night Bridal look for Amanda

I gave her a light smoky blue eye colour as her evening wear is blue. Just so we get a bit matchy-matchy here.
*Note: It is never a must to match your colours. So don't go restricting yourselves!

Doesn't she remind you of a pin-up girl look?
FYI: I love Pin-up girls! (My namecard has a pin-up girl, my kitchen has a few pin-up girl decors)

Lastly a sneak preview of her photo shot by Avenue 8

So gorgeous that I can't wait for Amanda to send the rest of the pictures to me!

Xoxo

Hair style for Photoshoot: Retro Mod

Recently did the hair for a model for a photoshoot and the theme was "Retro"

I don't know when exactly it started; I realized nowadays my dressing is more Mod (I think prints make fashion so much more interesting), but mainly my taste for furniture is changing towards this old style flavour (Especially DISTRESSED furniture English style)!!

And besides, 'Mod' IS the trend NOW!

So when I saw that the background of the photos had old type writers, furniture and cool poster boards, I was really tempted to go check out this supposedly abandoned place, and take some of those props home for my new home decors! :p (steal?) Hahahhhaha.

In the end, I didn't. I thought it would be creepy and the place would be hard to find, according to the photographer. Besides, I have been watching horror films and I wouldn't want abandoned old stuff to have strange energies coming out!! ARGHHHH??!!!

Like: CAN YOU imagine going home with the creeps everyday?!!!!!

Well here are the pictures! Makeup done by a fellow friend.

Check out the old typewriters and table in this picture above!!!!! *excited
