Hair style for Photoshoot: Retro Mod

Recently did the hair for a model for a photoshoot and the theme was "Retro"

I don't know when exactly it started; I realized nowadays my dressing is more Mod (I think prints make fashion so much more interesting), but mainly my taste for furniture is changing towards this old style flavour (Especially DISTRESSED furniture English style)!!

And besides, 'Mod' IS the trend NOW!

So when I saw that the background of the photos had old type writers, furniture and cool poster boards, I was really tempted to go check out this supposedly abandoned place, and take some of those props home for my new home decors! :p (steal?) Hahahhhaha.

In the end, I didn't. I thought it would be creepy and the place would be hard to find, according to the photographer. Besides, I have been watching horror films and I wouldn't want abandoned old stuff to have strange energies coming out!! ARGHHHH??!!!

Like: CAN YOU imagine going home with the creeps everyday?!!!!!

Hair and Makeup: Mesmerizing Mia

I love Mia's awesome oriental features. Very sunken cheek bones and single lidded eyes. Many girls have no idea and love huge doe eyes. But in my opinion, these features photograph very well and I would love to have eyes like these if I could!

In the fashion sense, we also call this 'strong' or 'edgy'.

ABOUT ME

I work with a team of fellow artists sometimes, which allows us to better ourselves and also work as a group to deliver the best services to you all out there.

Previously graduated with a Diploma in Optometry, I realized that being an optometrist is not what I would be happy working in for the long term. So I decided to pursue the unknown in the artistic industry, which is what I've always been fascinated in since young.

I figured: You only live once, why waste it?

So, after graduating with a hair diploma course from Kimage, I realized styling is what I love most and decided to focus more on getting experience in this sector which unfortunately was not taught in-depth during my time in hair school.

I strongly think that hair should also really go with makeup for a lady to look ‘complete' and that beauty IS the whole package!!

So, I started to read up on lots of information on makeup and went hands-on on my own face and whoever I can get for practice!

Armed with self-taught makeup skills, a hair diploma, and MOST importantly a very determined and passionate heart, I took a huge leap of faith out into a new career path to get more involved in the industry.

I proudly say my forte is my versatility in my style for (with an added speciality on asian faces) and is often engaged for brides styling, fashion and commercial shoots/print ads, corporate functions and beauty workshops, personal makeovers and collaboration with fashion designers, photographers and videographers. (Pretty much anything you can think of)

Being able to do what I love and good at, often keeps me in an uplifted, jovial and cheeky demeanor, making people feel at ease around me very easily.

Currently striving to better my skills with experience and looking to expand my expertise in related hair and makeup projects.

I am proud to declare that I am Cozycot’s 100 most inspiring women for two consecutive years 2011/2012 and want to thank all the people who have supported me so far!
