Pre-wedding photography: Comic style
The Comic customised pre-wedding photography by us!

The wonderful adventures of Jelloman and Wonderwoman:
It was an awesome fun shoot I've ever done for wedding couples. Great for couples looking for a different way to celebrate their union. :)
I for one will be game to try something for my own!!!
Because I am utterly bored of the standard types of photography that couples usually seem to go for. And I wonder if it is the lack of choices or we are all too traditionally safe and "un-fun"
However, I must say the recent attractive photography packages tied up with the bridal studios are starting to acquire more fun and taste.
Like:
NO MORE posing in front of huge rocks, or mundane beach scenes at sentosa/east coast.
AND MORE Korean themed styles and colourful, fun, happy couple shots. Artistic and etc.
DON"T get me wrong, I just feel that the process of taking couple shots should be fun and INVOLVED, not trying very hard to fit into something forced and cliched, so to speak. And that's where an important art director should come into play. Or else a good photographer with good directions, or the couple with crazy ideas they are game to try.
I mean, it's supposed to be once in a lifetime kinda thing, why not have the best memories to go with while doing it??????
:D Im sorry for being a sucker for fun things! :D
And I am trying to brainstorm an array of fun things to do for my own wedding! Soon enough
Love,
G

My Best Friend's Wedding
10th July, my best friend's, Jolene's wedding. It was kinda a nice and grand affair.. The bride looked beautiful and the sisters ever young and pretty.. heehee
I was the head bridesmaid and together with a few other sisters, we woke up really early in the morning preparing to set off to Jo's place.
The idea was for us sisters to wear pink dresses. Rose pink.
I had difficulties finding that light shade of pink in my favourite style and so with permission of Jo, I got a hot pink number instead :) Just appropriate as I'm supposed to stand out as I'm head 'jiemei' anyway.
The morning episode was hilarious. We totally had fun making the lives hard for the brothers and the groom. I was accused of laughing too evilly and that I must be the mastermind.
WRONG BIG TIME!
You all JUST didn't know women can be EVIL creatures didn't you? We were thinking of setting up a business company specialising in "Rent a Bridesmaid (Jiemei)" ! One of the sisters was so pro at it that we decided she should be the CEO....
Seriously! I think it could all work out! Just check out the movie: 27 dresses. You'll know what I mean.
Pictures of us cam whoring:

After the morning ceremony was over, most of us went straight to the hotel, Mandarin Oriental.
We had a wonderful room (with a nice view of the NDP rehearsal parade ground and the ferris wheel) for us all to get ready in. The room is just shiok!
The bridal suite was fantastic and the light bites just looked totally gorgeous and yummy:

This wonderfully simple but beautiful look cake....

There's strawberries and champagne

Cakes and more cakes....!!! OOO Im salivating!!!!!

Sandwiches and smoked salmon!!

So after all the kay-po-ing in the bridal's suite, we went back to our room to bath and freshen up.
I had the honour of styling up some of the sisters' hair. Busy busy busy.
Almost didn't have time to doll myself up! (Well, for professionalism's sake, I must totally make sure that all their hair was ok before I doll myself right?)

In the end, I was slightly late for the solemnization. Thank God I still could witness most of their vows.... AWWW....
After the solemnization, was the reception and the welcoming in of guests. The hotel had the waiters serve light bites and cocktail for the waiting guests !! I did not get a chance to taste the light bites at all! I think they had prawns and smoked salmon... The classy yummy kind! :(
Oh! oh! Here is a pic of my evening attire:
It's very blurry most probably due to the lighting.
I specially got the flowery hairband from Forever 21 to match my black frou frou dress! I improvised my strappy heels. See those straps? They are actually ribbons that I used to tie it to my feet to look like it is connected to my wedge!
The sash was added to make me look more precious, like a gift??!!! HAW Haw Haw!.............
Dress was from MU and is designed in a very smart way. It has strings attached to the under side of the skirt so I can choose to either let it loose or tie it up for that layered effect, which I did, and I can also wear this dress as a long skirt!
The only thing I regretted not bringing was my shawl.. It was like the artic! Freezing cold...
We warmed ourselves gulping red wine....
The wedding favour was so pretty and delicious! I finished mine in no time.
Chocolate coated almonds in a glass bottle.
Here's a pic of the favour:

Dinner was finally served and the food was just yummy. Really different from the typical dishes we usually have at chinese weddings.
I.e: Instead of shark's fin, we were served shark's fin soup with what I think was mini abalone.
YUMMY!
Instead of the usual prawns, we were served prawns tempura style on sticks with wasabi sauce to go.
YUMMY!
Chilli Crab shelled served with Man Tou
YUMMY!
Juicy Cod fish fillet with artificial head and tail made with gluten.
We ate only the fillet.
Succulent & YUMMY!!
The service from them was great! One server was assigned for each table. Our drinks were full all the time and the plates were promptly cleared. But a tad bit too quickly.. The left overs were cleared before we even had time to think if we should have a second helping.
My friend's untouched cod fish was almost cleared by the waitress... -_-lll
Dinner ended at 11 plus pm. Pretty late huh?
Remember the room that I mentioned earlier? I would totally be staying overnight together with Zanne! My other good friend! Just nice, with free breakfast for two the next morning!
Yippee!
The other girls all could not stay over. What good luck for us!
The next day's breakfast was super nice ! It was in international buffet style and everything was just yummy. I was happily indulging myself and to add to the fact that they've got this whole honey comb for us to dig honey from! FRESH!

Volunteers for trial of hair products- Sebastian
Went to volunteer myself as a model for trial of Sebastian's new range of products.
Products and styling for hair play a very important role on how good your hair look. In my opinion, it stands for 60% of the overall importance. Check out the magazine models and you'll know what I mean!
Of course I'm not forgetting about the cut and colour, which are important too! Although sometimes looking good is a lot of maintenance work, I feel it's totally worth it and that's why I'm here at your service! =)
of course taking pictures of my stylists are a MUST

Anyway, I got the Korean stylists!
And then there were Honkies, Taiwanese, Thai, Caucasians, Koreans, Japanese.....
of course taking pictures of my stylists are a MUST
End result of all the experimenting:
Initially my hair was styled into some korean tai tai style. Didn't suit me at all! So after some messing up and pinning it became like this =D
I love the volume look!
Volume is forever in and suits many Asian face shapes.

How to maintain your new curls
I realised there are many of you who have no idea on how to maintain your newly permed head of curls. Therefore I am here to save the day!!
1st, having curly hair is NOT equaled to the same maintenance for your straight hair. You need more maintenance!
P/s: please always use conditioner after shampooing your hair. I've caught a few of you not doing so! tsk tsk....
The Essentials:
1) leave in conditioner or serum
2) curl wax
3) curling thong (optional)
4) makeup
ok
No.1. LEAVE IN CONDITIONER/SERUM---> this is to give hair a bit of gloss and shine. you don't want the hair looking like wheat.
No.2. WAX--> you need wax to keep the curls in place, to minimise the frizziness. Apply the wax, one dollop at a time, into sectioned hair until it's distributed evenly per section when hair is damp.
Detangle with finger, coat hair with wax, twist and scrunch.
Personally, i don't like using sculpting lotion or gel because when hair dries, it has the stiff noodle look. NOT appealing or sexy... I recommend Lucido hair wax for curls!

This wax revives curls and gives a strong hold without the stiffness!
If some of you don't want your curls too amplified by wax, its fine if you use more curl conditioner and a little bit of wax for softer curls.
No.3. CURLING THONG---> this is optional unless you want those really really nice bouncy waves/curls you see in magazines. If not, the wax should do a good job.
Note: Please always use a pre-heat protective styler or moouse before you thong to prevent too much moisture loss. Before you thong, make sure hair is DRY
No.4. MAKEUP---> having curls is a fine line between looking ultra sexy or ultra 'auntie'. Makeup obviously will bring out the wild cat in you. So, to be on the safe side, stick to eyeliner, mascara/falsies, blusher and peach lip shine. Basics. PERIOD.
