She did not live a normal life. We concluded that her years on earth were not even satisfactory, (by her standards) let alone happy.
Though she never complained or voiced out, with lots of care and probably over-protection, her body rebelled and gave her CANCER.
Plagued with stage 4 lung cancer, she miraculously beat the odds by strictly following the cancer diet. (It really works!!!) and lived normally; (well almost) for 5 more years.
YES. that is what we believed because well, cancer is a mass of bad cells that most probably formed from bad energy? (and feeds on sugars of course)
To add to that, the odds were against her. 2 of her other sisters were diagnosed with cancer. One has already passed on and one had a relapse.
It is so shocking to have 3 of 5 siblings with cancer. It is sad and sounds almost like a freak accident. OR a will of god?
Her death was painful, inevitable and swift.
Don't be mistaken. There was no abuse in the family. Just a very naggy and stingy husband, and 2 busy sons.
She hated who she had married and in turn kind of substituted the 1st son as her partner who acted more like the husband instead of the real one.
So the question is why then did you allow yourself to be subjected to the annoyance of said husband instead of doing things the way you like to?
Nobody is chaining you to the house or locking you in the cupboard.
We are responsible for who we are or what we do. True, we cannot manipulate everybody to our wishes.
And so? We react. Our reactions mould us to who we are today.
And if you choose to sit and do nothing, then you better hope there is a fairy godmother or a knight in shining armour to save you.
For her, Maybe there are extra 2 little seeds of devil's advocate. -Depression and Alzheimer's
Maybe it truly is God's will.
Emotions and mental weakness can be hard to overcome, especially if we have a weak psyche to start with.
So who is to blame? GOD? YOURSELF?
Now, that IS the question.
In Singapore, we blame the government.
With the recent passing of our legendary father, Lee Kuan Yew, I see a nation suddenly unitied
Literally and Technologically.
I am very impressed to see people dedicated to queueing for HOURS under the crazy sun to pay their last respects.
Admirable!
Mr LKY, you must be rolling in pleasure in your box at seeing this awesome dedication and unity.
BUT
I receive messages uging the NATION and arguing on what COLOUR to wear for his burial day procession?? No black! Must be White! Etc...... In the end? PAP says light pastel colours. zzzZZzzz
I vote for the rainbow.......
I see strange rantings on facebook on the breadtalk saga. Slamming them for coming up with the distasteful pun and making a new type of bread in memory of LKY where all proceeds will be donated to the COMMUNITY CHEST.
Saying, "They are earning dead man's money." Saying, "It is their shameful attempt at marketing."
ERMMMM..... May I ask on which part are they "earning"?
Marketing? Well anything with a brand who does good deeds get slammed for marketing??!! (As long as they don't do it the FREE way?)
Some even suggested they should give out free breads to those in queue to pay the last respects to LKY. WHY would they????? Those in queue are not needy!
In my opinion, if they chose to give out free bread I would think this is even more of a marketing attempt. Because all those in Queue would have been able to appreciate this 'so called kindness' and then they have the MEANS to buy more bread from breadtalk in future to boost their business!
(NOT THE NEEDY, who have problems with simple life let alone eat breadtalk?!)
Therefore, from a different perspective, breadtalk chose to take the proceeds from abled people like us and give them to the needy.
I think this creates an even better initiative. You think they didn't need to crack their brains coming up with a new recipe and of course that (creative) pun?
Who would actually take the initiative to help the NEEDY? (excluding philanthropists and saints)
Well, not me.
If I were them. I wouldn't remove the buns. Maybe just the pun and explain where they are coming from. Period. Let people judge. IF you have a clear conscience and a strong mind, stand firm.
I kinda think this is quite noble and creative way for a tribute to LKY, who also has his sense of humour.
LKY is human after all. He has contributed much to Spore; according to him: HIS LIFE.
He Found the LOVE of his life. (who can say they do nowadays??)
Really. snippets of how real he is as a husband and lover has moved me more than what he has achieved.. I'm emotional this way. I think that's what made his life livable. Human.
Suddenly people are speaking up for him like they are his protectants. Why so serious? Why so judgmental over silly things like puns and colours?
facepalm roll eyes
I have also read stuff saying LKY has done less than glory things in his younger days and caused a lot of injustice to the people involved. He was even labeled as unscrupulous by those who have suffered while fighting for their wants.
Well, he is human. And WHO gets to be NICE always and not get stepped all over???? WHO???
I think you know the answers.
Inside every successful Emperor, there is a tyrant.
This reminds me of how the olden days of China, with unscrupulous kings and queens. The current show I am watching 武媚娘。(the first king shown in the TV series)
媚娘 is like the Madam Kwa to LKY.
HISTORY always repeats. Funny right?
But what matters more is that we have a good and safe place to live in. (Albeit Expensive. HAHA!!)
I can't even begin to name the many progressions Singapore has made over the years.
I can only say Singapore is not the best but definitely much better than a lot of other places.
I travel so I know.
RIP LKY. Trust me. It's better to Rest than to see all these frivolous things being posted and argued about on your passing.
You have done enough.
Judgers don't Judge and Haters don't hate
PEACE
